About Love the One You Hate (OUT NOW!)

Nicholas Hunt is the man I hate.

For good reason.

His opinion of me is tainted by prejudice even before my arrival at his grandmother’s estate, and my first impression of him is just as abysmal.

His arrogance and icy demeanor make it clear that he’s the type of man who’s best handled at a distance.

Fortunately, space shouldn’t be an issue inside this Gilded Age mansion and its lush gardens. If I stick with the servants and he keeps to his sailboat and vintage Porsche, we should hardly cross paths at all. Unfortunately, at Rosethorn, I find that all roads eventually lead to Nicholas Hunt.

Sparks fly as we spar at the dinner table. Fighting words are flung in the shadows of the palatial halls.

We hang suspended in our hatred of one another, painfully oblivious to the heat and tension that build with every moment we’re left alone. We’re liable to kill one another, I think…right up until my eyes land on his lips and a new feeling grips hold of me: lust.

What’s worse?

He knows it.

They say you should keep your enemies close, but when Nicholas tightens his grip on my waist and draws me near, I’m not sure if it’s out of loathing or love.

One thing’s for sure—I intend to find out.
Maren Mitchell’s life has been tilted on its axis. One day she was working as an orderly at a senior’s home and the next she’s been uprooted and whisked away to be Cornelia Cornwell’s companion, one of the most wealthy and influential women in Rhode Island.

Nothing in my life has ever come this easy. There has to be a catch to this arrangement, some fine print I’m missing.

It’s almost like a fairytale dream until Maren meet’s Cornelia’s grandson, Nicholas Hunt, who despises her on sight and the feeling is mutual. But even in the palatial residence, they can’t seem to avoid each other sparing continual while stoking the flames of their attraction. Can the ill-suited couple overcome their differences and find a way towards happiness?

R.S. Grey writes about self-discovery and growth with an expert hand developing an easily likeable character such as Maren who throughout the story realizes she’s more than her past and is finally able to figure out what she wants out of life. I love how Cornelia played a hand in all of this, she’s as important to the story as Maren and Nicholas. The relationship Cornelia and Maren’s relationship is lovely to witness and

Maren and Nicholas may have come from different backgrounds, but their romance makes a compelling argument for the beauty of love and acceptance. This is the perfect read for anyone who loves slow burn romance with a dash of angst.

“Haven’t you managed to discover the truth? I live by your breath.” ~ Nicholas to Maren
