“Fermented grief is far more potent”
Another jewel from Jasinda!! This book is very emotional and made me cry more than once. Both Nell and Colton melted my heart…. and also Kyle because he was a great kid!
This story is about two very broken souls that needed each other in order to survive, live and be truly happy again. About accepting the facts and what life brings along the way; about grieving and letting go of the guilt; about the damage a parent can bestow on a child due to ignorance and ambition. I simply loved it. It deals with several tough issues and nothing was predictable, I mean sure we know what happens.. the blurb tells us, but the why and how and when took me by surprise and Colt’s story and past and his struggles where just tear-jerking. Don’t be fooled though… the book is also Hot!!!
Oh! and the songs….. make sure you listen to them, all of them (thank you youtube). You will connect with the characters and the story a lot.
The second book I read from this author and I loved it. Totally recommend it… but be warned you need some tissues handy. The only “bad” thing I can say is that the book had some editing errors here and there, but nothing major and I would have loved to read at least a 100 pages more… like I felt I needed more of the story, more of them, more growth and see them on a day to day… or an epilogue… something… :.
“Compassion and pity are not the same: Pity is looking down on someone, feeling sorry for them and offering nothing; compassion is seeing their pain and offering them understanding”
